This song is really soulful. It's a mid-tempo song with Soul/Pop inlfuences and sounds likes a song from the 70's pop era. This song is about returning from the war and the love missed. It has a powerful message but also it's quite uplifting at the same time.
This is the 3rd cover song included on the album. Originally recorded by UK songbird Des'ree in the 90's for the Romeo & Juliet Soundtrack. While Des'ree's version of the song was almost operatic sounding, Taylor takes this is makes it more R&B and sings it her way. This is a subtle but emotional ballad for the album. Very sensual.
Here it comes the big power ballad. It doesn't get any bigger than this. Taylor had previewed this track at her Live Shows while the album was being recorded so fans had already grown to love the song. It became very clear from Taylor's fans that they wanted this song on the album. This has all the sounds of an anthem. It has a real 80's power ballad feel, yet sounds fresh and new at the same time. The lyrics are deep and you feel them from the very first note and Taylor builds this bigger than any other song she has recorded. Listen to Taylor's voice roar through this song. A highlight!
Crash also features on the ABC's Spring Season Promo. Crash is also rumoured to be the 2nd single from the album.
The 2nd song co-written by Taylor. This is one of my personal favourites. This is very intimate & emotive. The lyrics are full of emotion and her vocals are so powerful yet subtle at the same time. Listen to Taylor build this song into it's fever pitch of emotion. This is also one of Taylor's favourites. There's magic on this one.
Satisfied has been a long time coming for fans of the Diva. Released 5th February 2008 this album was highly anticipated by fans worldwide.
It has been 10 years since the release of Taylor's previous full length studio album "Naked Without You" in 1998. Not that Taylor ever stopped recording or trying to get her music out there. As the record industry was changing Polygram Records with whom she had NWY released shut down and no worldwide releases could happen.
In 2003 Taylor signed a new reocrding deal with BMG Germany and started recording her new album. But Sony/BMG merged later and alot of artists lost their recording deals and Taylor did also.
Taylor is a survivor and with the merger & digitial sales taking over the industry it was a changing industry compared to when she started out in 1988. Taylor then set-up her own label and got funding for her album and signed onto new Management to help market her new album and get her name back out there.
Taylor began recording again 2007 after searching for songs she felt a deep connection with and songs that she really felt passionate about recording. Taylor often referred to this album as her "Private Dancer" moment referring to the classic album by Tina Turner. Taylor wanted to make an album that was not just another pop album.
Taylor finished recording the album late 2007 and released the first single from the album "Beautiful" digitally 11th December 2007. The single has been embraced by fans and also unleashed a fresh new sound for Taylor. This was a more soulful sound. Also released exclusively as a B-side to the single was a re-recorded version of her debut smash hit single "Tell It To My Heart 2008" exclusive to iTunes. This was also popular among fans. Beautiful also rocketed up the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Charts jumped inside the TOP 10 February 08.
Taylor describes the album as more R'n'B. It has been 10 years since her last album so fans were waiting to see how her music would change. The wait was over by February 2008 with the album released in the USA.
Satisfied is a mature and soulful collection of songs with many different musical influences. The album includes music genres such as Dance, Pop, R'n'B, Soul & even Reggae. The album features 5 originals, 4 covers & 4 tracks co-written by Taylor including lead single Beautiful.
This is the first album that does not include a real dance song. Taylor at the time of finding and writing songs for the album just did not find one she felt a connection with. This opened the door for Taylor to stretch herself musically and there are a few surprises on the album including the reggae track "She Don't Love You" a style which Taylor has never recorded before. She pulls it off beautifully. Also with a slight reggae influence is "Dedicated" with it's 70's Soul/Pop feel filled with it's happy lyrics.
The album has already recieved rave reviews including brillant reviews from Billboard.com. The album shows a new side to Taylor and also shows fans that her voice has also changed through the years and you can hear how her voice has deepened slightly and become even richer. Listen to "Fool To Cry" to hear the best example of this.
Fans waited a long time for this album and they have been totally Satisfied with what could be the album of her career.
Satisfied is here....
This is the perfect closer for the album. This is also new territory for Taylor. This song is very much like a standard and Taylor sings these heartfelt lyrics backed by strings, something she has never done before. The results are subtle yet magical.
A cover of the Rolling Stones single. Taylor takes this song to a soulful place and the magic of this is in Taylor's vocals. Her voice has changed throughout the years and this song you can really hear those changes. Her lower register is so deep & rich. She sings this so sultry & soulful.
This is certainly a highlight on the album. Taylor is also very proud of the vocal on this song.
This is the 3rd song co-written by Taylor. This is pure soul and reminds me of a 60's / 70's soul classic. It starts of simple with piano and into the gentle chorus before it lifts up into an uplifting medoly of soul. This is an excellent song and possibly one of her greatest. It also ends as simple as it started with just a piano outro. This is a class act all the way. Beautiful song with great lyrics.

The historical missing link between Laura Branigan and Celine Dion, Taylor Dayne has been applying her trademark vocal stomp to dancefloor shakers and power ballads since the '80s. Her first studio album in nearly a decade exploits her versatility and vocal power to the hilt. From the opener, "Beautiful," it's clear that her high and low registers retain their richness and that her boombastic pyrotechnics are still a natural wonder. But "Satisfied" satisfies most when Dayne stretches a bit. Two songs, including the deeply soulful "Dedicated," even venture into pop-reggae. The biggest surprises, though, are cover versions: Dayne's rendition of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Under the Bridge" makes Anthony Kiedis sound soggy in comparison even before it finally explodes in Mariah Carey-style melisma fireworks. And her interpretation of the Rolling Stones' country-rocking "Fool to Cry" tells it to your heart for sure.
Ushering in a new track from Taylor Dayne is like welcoming home a cherished pal, only she seems to have endured the years with more moxie than the rest of us who were twirling in circles in 1988—mind you, that would be 20 years ago—when she first hit with "Tell It to My Heart" and "Prove Your Love." She reignites dance roots on anthemic "Beautiful," mixed into a creamy froth by the equally long-lived Hex Hector. Alternative mixes are available from Scotty K, who adds a flush of house strings, and Speakerbox, applying clever production stops and starts, but it's the familiar vigor of those field-goal vocal chords that gives the song its clout. She proved our love long ago, but Dayne sounds as fresh as spring. There's more to come, with her first studio album in a decade, "Satisfied."

Beautiful was the 1st single released from Satisfied. Released 11th December 2007. Beautiful marked a musical change for Taylor. This song co-written by Taylor has many musical influences all rolled into one. It mixes genres from Soul, Pop, Dance to R&B. This song is very uplifting with it positive lyrics and Taylor's trademark vocals. This is a great song to say I'm Back! Not that Taylor ever left. In April 2008 Beautiful topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Charts hitting #1.

What a great song. This is Taylor doing what she does best. Taylor's voice just glides effortlessly across this song. This is the Pop/Rock track of the album. The lyrics are a perfect blend for Taylor. Taylor also has said this is one of the toughest songs to sing on the album. She makes it sounds easy. Listen for the middle section where she does a vocal note of pure ear candy and then brings it home. This could be a single.
02 I'm Over My Head (Billy Steinberg, Josh Alexander)
This song has a similiar soulfulness to I'm Over My head. They really blend well next to each other on this album. This is very radio friendly and has a real summery feel to it.
This is Pop/Soul and Taylor just sings this so easy. Legendary songwriter Rick Nowels known for his work with Belinda Carlisle & Kim Wilde stamps his trademark sound all over this. He knows how to write great songs.
This would make a great single.
03 My Heart Can't Change (Gregg Alexander, Rick Nowels)
This is the surprise song on the album. This is Taylor singing her most unique track ever. This is reggae! I never thought of Taylor doing reggae but she pulls of it. There is no style of music that Taylor can not do. She is a musical genius. This song is quirky and her voice sits in a key that shows off her rich, deep vocals tones. Great song for the summertime.
04 She Don't Love You (Peter Wade Keusch, Beal Jayms Madison)
This is a cover of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers worldwide smash hit single Under The Bridge. What a great choice of song to suit Taylor's voice. This is one of my personal favourites on the album along with The Fall. Taylor takes this song and makes it her own stripping it back to an R&B/Soul sound and the highlight here is her vocals. She nails this song with perfection and wait until the end of the song when she really kicks that voice into overdrive and goes soaring to bring it home like only Taylor can do. This would be a great single is is one of the highlights of the album. This is Taylor's favourite also along with The Fall. She's proud of this one.
05 Under The Bridge (Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Anthony Frusciante, Chad Gaylord Smith)
This is actually a cover of a Lewis Taylor track and Taylor really likes this singer/songwriter. The title track off the album and it's one of the slower songs. It's very soulful but also R&B as well. Another great song to showcase Taylor's rich vocals. This song blends the album together perfectly.
06 Satisfied (Andrew Lewis Taylor, Michael Mondesir)
07 Dedicated (Stephen McKay, Peter Wade Keuch, John Graham Hill)
