As Taylor Dayne gets ready for the release of her new album in 2004, she heads down under to Australia to show her fans the Diva is still burning up the dancefloors.

Taylor tours right through Australia and as she was near the end of her tour she hit Melbourne and turned up the heat. The first gig is at "The Palace" and I was there to take a few pictures.

But it was the next night and her gig at Melbourne's
Crown Casino that I was lucky enough to meet the Diva after the show backstage.

Check out some reviews, setlists & some pictures from the night below...
Meeting Taylor...

The four of us flew back stage and there she was. Taylor was only off stage for minutes and looked like an angel,  a very small angel actually she is a little lady. She looked stunning up close she still looks 21 and she is so down to earth. I introduced myself as the guy on this website and she knew  my site and really likes it and Keiron & myself bought her a present which was a stuffed toy, a Koala Bear and also a mini Koala & Kangaroo for the twins. She happily signed a tour poster I had weeks before managed to grab. And also posed for some photos and I made sure we got more than one in case they did not turn out. She was being really great. Then the other couple we met, Chris & Carmel got to pose for photos and have a quick chat with her but there were other people waiting also and then we went walking out of there grinning like monkeys...In one word it was the greatest night!

A Twist Of Taylor Dayne - Troy's Review:

It was a hot summer's night in Melbourne, Australia 14th Nov 2003. The venue was the Crown Casino and was held in their showroom.  The venue was set up with rows of big round tables with lots of 10 people sitted on each table. I had previously set-up a Meet 'n' Greet with Taylor before the show. The night turned out to be no ordinary smooth riding evening. Me & my flatmate & pal Keiron were there early and seated. We were waiting patiently til 8:15pm when we were to go to the sound desk and would be taken backstage before the show to meet Taylor. Back at the table we sat and chatted with people sitting at our table as they arrived. Once everyone arrived at our table it turned out the couple sitting next to me, Chris & Carmel knew my web site which was really cool so we talked all things Taylor. So when it came time to meet Taylor I got them to come up too. Then we hit a snare as the tour manager, Ryan knew nothing about us meeting Taylor and she was due to hit the stage in 3 mintues...one word PANIC!  Ryan said he would try to get us in after the show but Taylor had to rush off to another gig. After the show we waited and waited and what seemed like eterinity was actually only 10 minutes. Then Ryan came and said it was cool to meet Taylor, we had to be quick, but first we had the show to watch...
The Show:

Taylor bands kick starts the music and then Taylor's sensational back-up singers & dancers
came flying onto the stage and one girl more twirls on stage like a funky ballerina
'cept her shoe came off and she was hopping round trying to get it back on,
was so funny...then Taylor hit the stage as the first song built up the diva's intro...

With Every Beat Of My Heart
Taylor rocks the pop in this song, belting it out and the crowd goes mad screaming and
cheering as Taylor sings her first song.

Planet Love
Taylor let her vocals roar in this song and it was big with the crowd. She soared on those high notes dancing up a storm also.

Whatever You Want
3 massive dance tunes and Taylor's voice sounds fresh as ever. The back-up dancers and singers along with Taylor work through some great high energy dance routines. Taylor sings the remix version off this track...it goes down a treat.

Don't Rush Me
Out came the 3 stools and Taylor & the back-up girls do these sexy dance routines whilst singing this big hit. The crowd instantly roared at the start of this song. I think the crowd might have known this song big time!

I'll Always Love You
Taylor sits on her stool, at this point she has a chat to the audience while the crowd are yelling out all kinds of things to her, even a marriage proposal...but Taylor said well hey..."What U Got"? She said " hey I'm a practical girl". Taylor was so funny and continues cracking jokes and also stated how she bought a "Digeridoo" (an aborginal music instrument) . She was impersonating it and more diva jokes came and the crowd were laughing. Once she stopped laughing she said let's sing this song. She sang it tenderly and took the end to heaven and back like on her live cd an extended version.

Unstoppable
This kicked in right after I'll Always Love You and was great. The dance routines
were great and Taylor sang it great. The crowd were into it.
I have to say it was one of my favourite songs.

I'll Be Your Shelter
ROCKED THE HOUSE! I have heard so many people rave about Shelter live. The dance diva had left the building, we were watching a rock goddess belting one of her biggest Oz hits on full throttle. Taylor rocked with the mic stand in hand like a
classc rock chick running from side to side of the stage...never letting up til the explosive end. She didn't sing the na na's she got the crowd doing their part with the help of the back-up girls. BRILLANT!

Send Me A Lover
This was the moment you would expect a heart stirring ballad. NOT ON THIS SHOW! Taylor talks to the audience again and she does not like this song anymore as the lyrics are like blah blah to her now...She does not want another lover. So to get through the song she likes to channel the voices of a dead person. But tonight it was not quite like that in one of the funniest things I have ever seen she and a member of the band did impersonations of Natasha & Boris from (Rocky & Bullwinkle). You can not even begin to believe how funny this was. Once the notes started getting big she had to drop the act and sing it...
and she did...What a woman!

Stand
Back to the dance arena. This was such an uplifting song to hear live. Taylor and her band have their show down so well it is very tight and they all know their stuff.

Prove Your Love
This was a highlight for many big fans of her 80's singles. It went off. The girls & the band goes crazy on stage shaking their
asses!
This is a picture of the girls shaking and dancing on stage during "Prove Your Love"...
Can't Get Enough Of Your Love
My favourite song ever, and she ripped it up. The crowd were into this and it is actually her biggest hit single in Oz so you know it was a great time for the audience & me...oh yeah!

Tell It To My Heart
This was the first song in the enocre, where the crowd roars until she came back on stage. The sexy back-up girls came rocking out dancing and shouting...GET UP..GET ON UP...GET UP...GET ON UP! It worked the crowd was up and dancing to Tell It To My Heart...this was a big crowd pleaser...

Love Will Lead You Back
The big ballad and Taylor sang it with emotion and power. The crowd were still right up at the stage out from their tables waving their hands as she sang it. As the big notes came she ended the ballad. She went and thanking all of us for coming and was going along the stage front shaking hands and signing autographs very fast and she was only too happy to do it...then it was off stage...
What A Night...

That was the show and all I can say is Taylor is a fantastic entertainer, funny, down to earth and if you ever have the chance to see her perform, do yourself a favour...don't miss the chance!

Taylor...It is you who rock!

You Did-Ger-Ri-Doo Good! ha ha...thanks for an unforgettable evening...

Come visit Australia again soon...We Luv Ya!
